NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUTH BASEBALL AT NYC PARKS:

As of January 1st, 2017, the City of New York REQUIRES that all youth baseball leagues playing on ballfields in City parks MUST have an AED device and a trained responder made available at every league game and practice. Youth baseball leagues found in violation of this practice will be subject to warnings, fines and denials of future permits.

NYC PARKS will provide AEDs and training to league officials, directors and coaches in advance of the 2017 spring season. If you have any questions and or concerns about this new policy, please email youthbaseballAED@parks.nyc.gov

I have been informed that NYC Parks will not issue any new permits for this year unless the coaches have been trained. The Parks department will provide both the training and the AED. PLEASE INFORM ALL BASEBALL COACHES AND DIRECTORS TO VISIT THE PARKS DEPARTMENT WEBSITE ~ NYC.GOV/PARKS FOR INFORMATION ON THE TRAINING DATES. There are currently training dates scheduled in January.

This is very important that we all follow through on this requirement in order for us to have a smooth and organized league this season. I thank you in advance for your cooperation. Permit holders should have been emailed this information directly from the NYC Parks Department.

CYO Baseball and Softball documents and important information will be emailed to the PARs and ADs and be available on our website in early February. Currently you can review the 2016-17 CYO Athletic Manual (available on the CYO website) for important dates and the league rules on baseball and softball.

The CYO Baseball and Softball Meeting in scheduled for March 2nd, 2017 at 7pm at the Immaculate Conception Center. Entries will be due on March 8th, 2017.
